Keyword:
Spherical wave

Detailed Description:
A spherical wave is a wave (e.g., sound wave, light wave) that propagates regularly and evenly from a source in all directions in strictly concentric wave fronts. Such a spherical wave front can only be created under highly idealized conditions. In technology, a spherical loudspeaker is often used as a sound source for the spherical propagation of sound. In particular, a spherical loudspeaker is used in a reverberation chamber, for example, to determine the sound absorption coefficients of a sound absorber / ceiling sail / acoustic element / acoustic image / acoustic ceiling in accordance with DIN ISO 354.
