Conference rooms are primarily used for meetings. This means that, unlike offices, good audibility over long distances is crucial. Conference rooms are therefore considered comparable to rooms in educational establishments in accordance with ASR A3.7 and DIN 18041. The required reverberation time for these rooms is 0.57 seconds in the speech frequency range from 250 to 2,000 Hz, depending on the room volume. A tolerance of ±20% (0.46 to 0.68 seconds) is permissible.
The acoustic measures should aim to achieve optimum speech intelligibility at the furthest seat with minimal listening effort.
