The Objective
The focus was not on general acoustics, but specifically on “noise reduction” at full capacity and on avoiding excessive sound insulation in order to preserve a pleasant sense of space and prevent the feeling of a “vacuum.” The goal was to strike a balance between noise reduction, speech intelligibility, and the openness of the space.
Our Approach
During an on-site visit, we conducted a reverberation measurement and surveyed the teachers to understand their expectations and preferences. Using the measurement results, their preferences, and acoustic software, we calculated the optimal configuration to ensure natural and pleasant acoustics.
The Result
Improved speech intelligibility and reduced background noise even at full capacity. Avoids the impression of an overly soundproofed room, thereby preserving the sense of space and ensuring that children do not feel cramped. A sustainable solution that supports functionality, well-being, and educational quality.
