Keyword:
Sound pressure

Detailed Description:
All sound events have in common that they trigger small fluctuations in air pressure, which can propagate in elastic media such as air or water. This is why we refer to the sound pressure of a tone. The stronger the pressure fluctuations, the louder the sound event. The faster the fluctuations occur, the higher the frequency.
