Sound
Detailed Description:
Sound (from Old High German: scal) generally refers to the noise, tone, sound, or bang (types of sound) that can be perceived auditorily by humans with their hearing, i.e., the ear-brain system, but also by animals. Sound represents the propagation or audible vibrations (sound waves) of pressure and density fluctuations in an elastic medium (gases, liquids, solids). A distinction is made between useful sound, such as music or the voice during conversation, and disturbing sound, such as construction site or traffic noise.
