The assessment level corresponds to the workplace-related average level during a work shift of usually 8 hours. Additional peak loads (so-called peaks) must also be taken into account. According to the Noise and Vibration Occupational Safety and Health Regulation applicable in Germany, an assessment level of less than 80 dB must be maintained. At higher levels, special protective measures are necessary to reduce noise.
