Free field room
Detailed Description:
A free-field room is a special type of anechoic chamber. In this case, however, the floor is also covered with absorbent material. Since this measure makes the floor impassable, a sound-permeable grid is usually placed over it to allow access to the object being measured. Such rooms are used in acoustic measurement technology to perform targeted sound source analyses, even under the object being measured. A room colloquially referred to as an "anechoic chamber" does not occur in everyday life.
