Detailed Description:
Refers to the area around the sound source in which direct sound occurs. In this area, the sound level decreases by 6 dB for every doubling of distance. For example, if the speech level is 58 dB at a distance of 1 m, it is 52 dB at a distance of 2 m and 46 dB at a distance of 4 m.
