Keyword:
Diffuse sound
Detailed Description:
When a sound wave hits an obstacle, it undergoes a change in direction at its edges. As a result, part of the sound energy reaches the shadow area behind the obstacle. This part of the sound, which is "deflected" at the edge, is called diffraction sound. In offices, sound waves are diffracted when they hit a partition wall, for example.
