Background noise level
Detailed Description:
Background noise is generally defined as noise that contains little information (typical examples include speech, chairs being moved, traffic, machines, noise in corridors, adjoining rooms, and playgrounds). The background noise level is measured in dB or, with weighting of its frequencies according to human hearing, in dB(A). It has a direct impact on the intelligibility of speech.
