A-Rating
The A-weighted sound pressure level is the weighted average of the sound pressure level (dB) as a function of the frequency of a sound. This weighting takes into account the human ear's ability to perceive sound pressure levels or tones of different frequencies with varying intensity. Sensitivity is particularly high in the mid-frequency range, the range of human speech. Almost all regulations and guidelines specify values in dB(A).
